We Made the Match!
A generous anonymous donor offered up a $500,000 matching challenge last October, and members of the community stepped up to meet the challenge! On Monday, November 19th the project received the donation that put Shelburne over the top, one of more than 400 donations received from community members. A very sincere thank you to all who donated and helped the project raise more than $1 million dollars in a little over a year.
If you haven’t given yet, but would like to join there is still time to make an end of the year, tax-deductible gift. There are several ways to donate:
• By mail – Pierson Library, 5376 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, VT 05482
• At the library front desk, Field House location, 166 Athletic Drive
• Contact Kevin Unrath, Library Director, at 802-264-5017 for gifts of stock, in-kind donations, or naming opportunities
Thank you for your continued support!
The outline of the new building continues to fill in with steel, and work on Town Hall continues apace. Last Monday our independent soil testing contractor took samples along the north border of the site where the storm water trenching is ongoing. The results came back from testing on Friday showing that no contamination is present in that area of the site. We are continuing to work with the state to fulfill their soil testing requirements.
Site and construction work will continue through the holidays, although the crews will be taking Christmas and New Year’s Day off.
