August Project Update

I hope your summer has been as restful as ours has been busy!

Pierson Library has successfully moved into a portion of the Field House, 166 Athletic Drive, during construction of the new library. The temporary facility has the same books, computers, children’s room activities, staff and hours as the old library. There is even a small meeting room for groups of up to six, and a book drop for after hours drop off of materials.

By the time you read this, construction on the new library, renovations to the 1927 town hall and site work on the town campus will be in full swing. The shell of the new library is scheduled for completion by the end of the year, and barring any surprises the project will finished by June 2019.

“One important and exciting update relates to fundraising. Our volunteer library fundraising committee is more than halfway toward its goal of meeting a $500,000 challenge made by a generous anonymous donor. All money raised toward this match will go toward lowering the bond, so if we are able to raise the $500,000 match the bond will be lowered by a full $1,000,000! If you are interested in contributing to meet the match or in some other capacity, please contact Library Director Kevin Unrath at (802)985-5124, or stop by the library.
